Introduction to Human Rights: Lesson 5

What are Human Rights ?
There is not one single definition of human rights, but common to all approaches, is the conviction that human rights are fundamental for us to live in dignity as human beings.

Human rights are guarantee the equality of all people, integrity of the person, privacy, personal freedoms and fulfillment of basic existential and social needs.

Human rights are the rights and freedom that  belong to each and every person, because we are all human beings.

So, we are all entitled to these rights and freedom whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, color, region, language or any other status. Human rights help to define how we can live together peacefully, while safeguarding the rights and freedoms of each individual.
